At approximately 12:30am on January 31st West Ridge was dispatched to a detached garage fire threatening a residence. Chief 460 arrived on location reporting a fully involved garage fire. Tower 479 arrived and deployed the Blitz fire knocking down the bulk of the fire. Additional hand lines were pulled, and extensive overhaul was performed. The fire was deemed under control in just under 30 minutes. The home sustained heat damage to the exterior of the structure. The fire did not spread or damage the interior. West Ridge was assisted by Kearsarge Fire Department, West Lake Fire Department, Lake Shore Fire Department, Millcreek Paramedic Service and Millcreek Police Department. We thank all our mutual aid companies for their assistance. Despite extreme cold temperature no major issues arose from the cold.
