Motor Vehicle Collision

Today, once again the West Ridge Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of West 26th, Street and Crescent Drive. On arrival one vehicle with heavy front end damage was observed in the intersection while the second vehicle had been moved to a nearby parking lot and had suffered much less damage. The Chauffer immediately placed the Engine in a blocking position to protect those involved in the accident as well as Firefighters tending to the injured and assisting with debris pickup. Fire Police funneled westbound traffic into a single lane then proceeded to take control of the intersection. Lake Shore Fire Department responded with their IRT (Immediate Response Team) crew on Squad 507, and patient care was transferred to them. Debris cleanup and vehicle removal was completed and the roadway was quickly re-opened.
